I am in the last throes of data collection/analysis/writing to finish my Masters thesis for graduating in December.

True story: when I graduated college, I was a stressed out mess and spent something like the last month sleeping from 5am to 10am every day. wtf. It looks like I am setting myself up to do the same thing here. What is my life.

I am doing some of the most boring and painful parts, and I have been helping the time and work to pass by listening to podfic. Some of it exceptionally porny. It is the best and worst thing ever. Thank god no one comes in this room because I am not using headphones. That would be awks to the max. If anyone has recs for good fics that have been podfic'd/good podfics, I would welcome those with open arms. At this point, I'm mostly listening to things I've already read.

I'm not a connoisseur, but Lindsey has said good things about pandarus's reading skillz (apparently she has a gorgeous British accent, as well), and I frequently see her commenting on stories I liked with podfic links. She's like a podficcing machine! You can check out her reader page at Jinjurly's archive. I recommend sam_storyteller's Paper Chase (White Collar/Sherlock crossover of awesomeness) if you haven't read that yet. Ooh, she did podfic of The Death and Resurrection of the English Language! That fic was awesome. I think The Student Prince was the one Lindsey listened to on her roadtrip.

the Beltane cycle by astolat, including That Shall Achieve The Sword, Beltane, Coming of Age, and An Exile In Albion (all available individually, too) - Merlin fic in which Merlin gets found out and Arthur sides with him, which is a common trope but this particular series is my favorite, and includes backstory involving the Wild Hunt.

And I Wake Up Blind, Like My Dreams Were Too Bright: Supernatural, Dean/Cas, post-S4 AU in which Castiel gets amnesia, and Jimmy wakes up

Jeeves and the Blessed Indiscretion: even if you don't know anything about Jeeves & Wooster (hint: Jeeves is the magically competent butler, Wooster is the overbred and hapless English lord, they are totes married), the style is hilarious.

Queen of Spades by astolat: James Bond/M, which is an insane pairing, but can never be unseen [porny]

The Gargantuan Garden by yahtzee63: A Series of Unfortunate Events meets Edward Scissorhands; really sweet and whimsical, mimics the ASoUE style well

IDK if you still need podfic, but -- I think you know Merlin fandom, right? I listened to pandarus's podfic of The Student Prince on my roadtrip, and it is enormously long, utterly delightful, and her reading of it is excellent. If you aren't in the fandom/haven't read the fic, it's pretty accessible anyway, since it's a modern AU and read well. <3

cesperanza has a lot of stuff on her podfic page, and all her stuff is long and delicious. I can really only vouch for the Eight Sessions audiobook, but I bet Chicago's Most Wanted would be great fun.
