a quick blip on the screen...

I watched the new episode (TB or not TB) of House yesterday, and did Wilson get a haircut? It's weird and makes him look older. Like. A lot. I don't know how I feel about this.

***

At some point last night, I realized that I have obviously spent waaay too much time in popslashland and now, I will never be able to leave. Because really? I can't live without my genderswitch stories and the random mpreg stories and the really cracked out AU's where they are enslaved by aliens or psychiatrists and the randomass gsf stories and whatnot.

And then I realized that actually, what really happened was the Stargate-whatever people have just discovered the crack (or I just discovered the crack-writers), because really, they have a lot of that going on over there. (Except the enslaved by aliens thing seems to be more canon than crack. But I'm not really sure on that one.)

And then, I realized that what I really want in life is cracked out House fic. Like. Really cracked out. Like, this one, where House has a Super Sekrit Identity OMG! So now, I'm going to go see if I can dream up any halfway decent crackfic of my own. God I suck at writing. but I waaaaants!

It gets so that you don't even *notice* it's crack... just another day in the life of a boyband.

EXACTLY! I'm reading all these House stories, and it's just 'day in the life of whoever', 'regular day at the hospital', 'regular happenings, except the part where they have lots and lots of sex', and I'm all "geez, don't you people ever switch bodies, or get impregnated or something?"

Maybe that's the *real* difference between FPF and RPF? If we FPF, we're trying to make the fictional seem real...

I like that theory! The fictional as real as possible, the real as fictional/unreal as possible.

Now I want to go do research and make graphs and things. The levels of crack fic in rpf vs fpf. And then maybe do it by level of reality in the source material. [/science nerd]
