I have about a million posts in progress, because I take forever to do anything, but this needs posting.

I recently completely on accident managed to pimp my beloved mitchco into bandom, and I AM SO EXCITED. *flaily hands EVERYWHERE* And she was saying that she thought that just maybe, she should listen to a couple of their songs, and that I should give her a Top 10 list. WHICH WAS HARD.

My list of Top 10 Songs a Bandom Newbie Should Listen To:

(and wow, I''m kind of impressed with how evenly that came out. A little bit from everything, except Evening Out, which does kind of suck. Except Honerable Mention, which I adore because Patrick wrote it and I am all *flail* about it.)

G.I.N.A.S.F.S., because it's my second favorite Fall Out Boy song (the first being Homesick at Space Camp), and also it brings unrequited love to a whole new level of amazing.

And I don't know what it is about Evening Out, but I adore that CD. It's so cute. Like, I listen to it and can't help but think, "AWW THEY GREW UP AND ARE NOW ON MTV! HOW ADORABLE!"

I really really like Evening Out for that same reason! But, like, musically, it's not nearly as good as the rest of their stuff.

woot songs! I love hearing about which ones are people's favorites. I literally cannot pick a single favorite, I can only pick the top two. From each album. *is weak*
FUCT: Our Lawyers, Sophomore Slump (Gin Joints is really close)
IOH: Arms Race, Hum Hallelujah (with so many ties for third, its ridic. I am still listening to it and hearing something new every time.)

Yeah, it's hard for me to pick just one from each album. But I can say without a doubt that "Short Fast and Loud" is my favorite from Evening Out. TTTYG would be "Homesick at Spacecamp," with "Tell That Mick He Just Made My List..." pouting sulkily in the corner because I switch back and forth but the former's currently my favorite. FUCT would have to be "Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying," and IOH is a tie between "Bang the Doldrums" and "Hum Hallelujah." But if you include "G.I.N.A.S.F.S." it beats them both.

With me, it's always been if you like a FOB song, you really like a song. And you will not let go of it. Ever.

Word on the B-side thing. And on Cork Tree! I don't think there's a single song I ever want to skip on that album. That said, Sophomore Slump is my favorite x-eleventy-million.

And I like how popular Hum Hallelujah is. I get chills down my spine when it comes to the 'hallelujah, hallelujah' part. And I know it from church, so I had to laugh a little when it was credited to Leonard Cohen on the liner notes.

ha! I'm impressed that you were able to pick just 10! I'm fascinated by where these lists overlap, and where they don't.

Sugar is a great introduction! I can't actually remember if it was Sugar or Dance Dance that I heard first.

Oh, and Bang the Doldrums!! Man, I should just not even try to make these lists.
