I've been on a HUGE Smallville reading kick. And then this past weekend, I saw Superman Returns. And then I started actually watching season 1 of Smallville. ( So now my brain has been taken over by Superman. )

I like Veronica Mars.

la lala lala la UPDATE!
Feb. 11th, 2006 10:40 pmThe most recent episode of Veronica Mars threw me a bit, and I just figured it out! It's because it wasn't serious! It wasn't depressing! It wasn't full of weird and dubious tension! It was relatively straightforward and, while addressing some weighty issues like racism and class tensions, it was completely lacking in the heavy-tragedy kind of feeling that has been present for so much of the season. So much so that I kept looking for the catch. ( spoiler! ) Also? I think I'm ok with Weevile growing hair, but I don't think I really like Logan's new cut. I feel like he should have longer (and lighter) hair. He should be ... blonder, somehow. More surfer, but that could just be my kink showing.

Jan. 30th, 2006 10:20 pmOMFG. So, work ate my brain, and then by boss gave me a 4 day weekend, which is just now ending. And whoa did I need it. Plus, I worked all last weekend, so I totally deserved it.
Random Gripe: ( I don't like liquor stores ) The aind.
I did get caught up on my TV, and Grey's Anatomy has been really consistently good. I'm really enjoying it. Of course, there are always a couple quibbles, like in the most recent episode, ( blahblahspoilers )
Veronica Mars has been a bit of a mixed bag. I'm glad ( spoiler! )
SGA: Inferno is what I like to see in my SGA episodes. None of this horrifying lack of moral compass and human compassion crap. Action. Adventure. Daring Rescues. Threat of Immanent Death. Happily Ever After. So I am well satisfied. Of course, this means that the next episode will probably feature the irritating moral BS, but whatev. I'll just cover my ears and go LALALA really loudly and watch the shiny moving pictures.

meta, with a side of fanishness
Nov. 9th, 2005 12:06 amI've just been reading this post about fandom and male privilege that has been making the rounds and it just brought up this whole host of things. ( cut for me babbling a bunch about what fandom is really about. )
***
But enough about that. What I really wanted to say was how much the most recent episode of Grey's Anatomy totally redeemed the Whole Entire Show for me. ( cut for spoiler-ness )
the end. omgsotired.

Oct. 18th, 2005 09:58 pmI just went on the most Gigantic media binge of my life this weekend. I DL'd some House on a whim and then was instantly hooked. I love Dr. Gregory House with a mad mad passion. He's snarky, and sarcastic, and in pain! I. There is so much in his character just waiting to be dug up and poked around and played with. I don't know if I could even handle fanfic at this point. And really, I just want Fox to give me MORE! But sadly, it doesn't work like that.
I've also been watching some Desperate Housewives and some Lost, but neither were as interesting (or rather, I didn't watch as much) as House. I like House. A lot.
Oh, and the other thing I got was Kitchen Confidential. That is another one I really like! What the hell is it with hot men with amazing blue eyes on good TV shows? But whatever. Actually, I only got it because
hackthis wrote some fic and I lurved it to pieces.
And really, the funniest part of all this meda-gluttony is that I've never really been a TV person at all. But I guess that had more to do with a lack of access and a busy "real life" that I previously supposed. ^_^ ah, this living-by-yourself thing really changes a person.
