You guys. I am really tired all the time, and there is a 99.9% chance that it is because I am terrible at self care.

But whatevs, let me tell you about Project Runway! \o/

I am actually Really Really pleased that Anya won, because I think her clothing is beautiful and especially toward the end of the season, she was doing some really interesting and cool stuff. I am also always pleased to see The Ladies win. However, I also think that she kind of completely bombed the last two shows relative to how strong her stuff was at the end of the elimination episodes. I hope she goes back to incorporating that really cool sculptural stuff when she does her own line.

The whole while I was watching any critique of Kimberly's work, the only thing I could think was "Would any of them be saying that if she was a white girl?". Her collection was beautiful and I agree with Heidi that I would have loved to see more of the white pieces, but as it was, she did a really strong job. I also agreed with Tim on the tortured aspect of the front of the pink bubble skirt. But that sort of thing is not my jam.

I was ambivalent while I was watching it about the Judges criticism of Victor's stuff, but thinking on it a bit, it is true that his most visually arresting pieces were the custom fabric ones, and the sheer ones seemed to belong to a different collection. He seemed to kind of be losing his focus on what the collection was supposed to be there at the end.

Josh really made it hard for me to feel sympathetic toward him, but he did kind of get robbed, to a certain extent. His collection really was the most modern and interesting on a lot of levels, but the constant 'I should have this more than anyone else' got to be a bit grating. Also, his bitchery over Anya's poor sewing continued to be completely irritating. So what? She isn't hand-stitching each garment she is going to sell. As long as she can sew enough to get the designs made, it Doesn't Matter. So his collection was very interesting and surprisingly coherent, but there were not a lot of pieces from it that made me wish I could wear them, so in the end, I can't feel all that bad about it. Also, while I get the neon green shorts were interesting to look at, they also made the model look like her thighs were wider than her hips, especially in motion and it was all quite disconcerting.

I'm not sure that I'll actually tune in if they do another season. Tim Gunn is still completely delightful, and I mostly love Heidi when she goes on a tear, but it feels more and more like they're scraping the bottom of a barrel somewhere and I don't know that I'm that invested any more.
