OMFG. So, work ate my brain, and then by boss gave me a 4 day weekend, which is just now ending. And whoa did I need it. Plus, I worked all last weekend, so I totally deserved it.
Random Gripe: I really don't like liquor stores. Don't ask me why, I just don't. But in Ohio, it wasn't a problem, because the grocery stores carried beer and wine and it was all good. But here in Baltimore, they don't, and so if I want some damn red wine to make tomato sauce with (which I really need to do, as I have all the supplies and they aren't going to get used any other way), I have to hunt down a liquor store. And the one near me looks especially sketchtastic. Or maybe I'm just being mouse-y. But still. Don't like liquor stores. The aind.
I did get caught up on my TV, and Grey's Anatomy has been really consistently good. I'm really enjoying it. Of course, there are always a couple quibbles, like in the most recent episode, with the whole leg thing. I mean, I get the point the writers were trying to make with the New And Irritating Replacement For Bailey, but please. This was such a BAD way to make that point. There was totally a TV special on this chick who does triathlons with a prosthetic leg. TRIATHLONS PEOPLE. So, I think I'm not alone in saying that really, the Irritating Replacement was really irritating and taking Really Big Risks and Cristina was right to be concerned. I mean. Really Fucking Good Prosthetic VS. Leg With No Muscle? I'm thinking the Prosthetic option is going to be the less painful and more functional answer. And, while I'm not a doctor by any means, I'm pretty sure you don't regain full functionality from having that much of your leg cut away. Also, the risk of missing some of the infected tissue? REALLY FUCKING HIGH. Just. Arg. Bad science kills me every time.
Veronica Mars has been a bit of a mixed bag. I'm glad Wallace is back. He adds some much-needed levity to the show, I think. Also? Am I the only one who is totally unconvinced of the Grand Passion that is Veronica and Duncan? Because really, she has more chemistry with her dad, and that's just eww. To me, they are totally Good Friends who go Way Back, who you will help hide the body, but not who you want to nail to the mattress. That's what I get from their relationship, especially after the last episode with the baby. And now I'm wondering if the baby plot was all to get Duncan out of the way for the Searing Heat that is between Veronica and Logan. Because I could get behind that one. Logan is totally Draco Malfoy to Veronica's Harry. The Rich Evil one who is eternally flirting with the Side of Light. At least in my head. OMFG.
SGA: Inferno is what I like to see in my SGA episodes. None of this horrifying lack of moral compass and human compassion crap. Action. Adventure. Daring Rescues. Threat of Immanent Death. Happily Ever After. So I am well satisfied. Of course, this means that the next episode will probably feature the irritating moral BS, but whatev. I'll just cover my ears and go LALALA really loudly and watch the shiny moving pictures.
