I finally got around to reading the Why Nerds are Unpopular article. And someone said that he was really bitter. And they are right. And I find my reaction amusing. I want to pat him on the head and say, "Poor dear, too bad you were not smart enough to make your own group, outside the 'normal' popular group. That's what I did, and lived happy as a clam for most of my childhood and teen years. Of course, junior high was a bit rocky, but it would seen that in this day and age, going through that time easily is impossible.

Which isn't to say that he doesn’t have some valid points. School is valuable in some respects, for the most part, it isn't done very well, and kids would possibly be happier if they had something real to do. but god, he's bitter

I have some thoughts on character assassination. Personally, I don't mind too much if done for the cause of a good story. Of course, the best stories are those that do not need to resort to character assassination. But my pseudo-question is when is it just your interpretation of that character and when is does it become character assassination. And that question becomes even harder when applied to RPS. Because they don't really have a character to assassinate. They have public personae and for all we know, they could be obsessive gardeners or crazy toe nail collectors. We just don't know. And that leaves the field pretty wide open for personalities, hobbies, and any 'off screen' time we choose to write about. Which is why I really like boyband fiction.

chants to self "I will not be needlessly bitchy, I will not be needlessly bitchy, I will not be needlessly bitchy ...."

[sigh] pretty pictures. Want to pet them all. And Chris. I [heart] you in mad mad ways. a lot.
