For those still trying to get their bookmarks: THIS WORKS. Thanks brownbetty! I think it should work even if your data isn't showing up on the new website, but don't quote me on that. When in doubt, keep refreshing until it works?

NOTE: if you are having trouble editing the hosts file in windows, rightclick --> properties and check if the 'read-only' box is ticked. Also, if you run Spybot/Tea Timer, you will need to disable it before you can edit the file.


Also, I like how someone finally clued in to the fact that having a rabid horde of ANGRY ANGRY MONKEYS spewing bile everywhere about how you can't code your way out of a paper bag was maybe NOT the best situation to be in. Reading between the lines, it sounds like they really did just buy all the user info and none of the software. /o\ christ almighty.

I'd also like to know who decided to make it a whole different blogspot blog instead of posting on either of their own websites. /cynic

And if you are using/planning on using pinboard, fandom-in-general is collecting suggestions/requests here. AWW FANDOM, I JUST WANT TO PINCH YOUR CUTE LITTLE CHEEKS! Some ideas are less *ahem* realistic than others, but go put your two cents in if you are planning on using the service.

Thank you so much for linking me to Brownbetty's instructions. It worked perfectly and I almost wept with relief. I feel like someone returned a lost pet or something...2100+ bookmarks that had been lovingly tagged and bundled and organized and pampered their whole lives, suddenly turned loose in the wild. They had NO CHANCE of surviving that kind of neglect. 8 \

I feel SO MUCH BETTER NOW. : )

\o/ Yay, I'm glad it worked for you! Their blog says they've fixed the date issue on the new site export, but I haven't tried yet.
