drunkoffthestarsI've had the delicious plugin installed, and since yahoo tried to force that wretched redesign of the popup/old bookmarker, I've been running the plugin in advanced mode.
Today, for no apparent reason, it decided to completely fuck over Firefox and I legit want to cry about it. Which is ridiculous because as much as the recent bullshittery has irritated and angered and inconvenienced me, I haven't been *crying* level of sad/angry/fed up.
Part of it is that I can google the problem, and results come up! (it's something to do with bookmark syncing getting hung up somehow.) It is not a new problem! There was probably even a fix for it! But I can't get to it unless a) google has a cached copy of that page (because apparently $10 million doesn't buy you, in addition to any software to RUN the site, the contents of the support page when you buy an already established site), b) I can read the cached copy after all the formatting has been stripped out of it, which it what those pages look like right now, and c) I can get firefox to respond long enough to let me TURN IT OFF so I can actually DO SOMETHING.
I've been mostly successful about a and c, but on top of how completely broken everything else is, what's the point of b?
The other part of it is that some part of me believes that if I had a newer machine it'd somehow be able to handle whatever this glitch is (untrue, based on the tiny bit of reading of cached support files I rad), and that just triggers ALL OF MY FEELINGS about my employment/money situation (and talk about the bougiest of first world problems, ie my situation is FINE).
And to cap it all off, I can't even properly use the built-in bookmarking capability of firefox because either they fucked up that too or my computer really is too old to be running nearly the latest version of firefox, because when I just click on the 'Bookmark', firefox freezes for a few moments and I get a great little error message about how some stupid shit script has stopped responding, and would I like to continue or stop the script, which would matter except THE POINT OF BOOKMARKING SOMETHING IS TO BE ABLE TO GO BACK AND LOOK AT IT LATER WHICH I CAN'T DO IF THE THRICE CURSED MENU WON'T EVEN OPEN WITHOUT CRAPPING OUT THE BROWSER. ARGH.
Upset.
Meltdown.
Enough. I'm going to go read something extra fluffy courtesy of Pinboard (ps my username is doitninetimes, and if I ever figure out a clean way to pull rss feeds + tags and all metadata from them, I'll let you know for ppl who are into finding fic that way)
And really, I truly believe that at some point delicious will be back to being functional, but in the mean time, I'm going to get my money's worth out of pinboard, so idek if there will be a point to trying to keep up my account, which would be sad.
